VIRGINIA BEACH—Virginia Harris Harrell, 94, died July 27, 2007 at her home in Virgnia Beach.

She was the widow of E. Martin Harrell, her husband of more than 60 years.

Born June 2, 1913 she grew up in Branchville in Southampton County and was the daughter of the late John Z. and Amy E. Harris, and sister of the late Georgie “Buck” Harris.

Mrs. Harrell was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and a member and past president of the chapter Q P.E.O., both being a very important part of her life.

As involved as she was with church activities and the P.E.O., we will remember her more for who she was: a lady of quiet strength who never thought of herself, but put the needs and concerns of others first.

Rather than complain or criticize, she would show love and concern. Her life was a true reflection of God’s grace, compassion, and love.

She will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Survivors include her daughter, Emmy Lou Spry; her son, John M. Harrell and his wife Linda; grandchildren, Kelly Spry and his daughter, Taylor, Marty Spry, Amy Keanini, and Austin Harrell, and six other great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, do something kind for someone you love.

A memorial service will be held at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Revs. Eugene R. Woolridge and Ted David officiating.

Committal services will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins at 2:30 p.m.

Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with arrangements.
