Braithwaite-Doughtie

SCHUYLER—Deborah Jean Braithwaite and Phillip Yates Doughtie were married June 16 at the Walton’s Mountain Museum in Schuyler. Braithwaite is a fourth-grade teacher currently employed by Suffolk City Schools.
She has two daughters, Jennifer of Franklin and Erica of the Philadelphia area, and one grandson, Eric, also of the Philadelphia area. Doughtie is a retired Air Force tech sergeant who also runs a thriving landscaping business. He has six children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all living in the Tidewater area. The Saturday afternoon wedding at Walton’s Mountain was officiated by the retired Rev. Glenn K. Phillips, who is now a Virginia State Police officer. The ceremony took place in the living room of the Walton’s Museum. In attendance were various guests visting the museum and the museum staff. A honeymoon followed in Charlottesville, where the happy couple explored the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Skyline Drive and visited Monticello. Mr. and Mrs. Doughtie now reside in the Hunterdale section of Franklin.
