NORFOLK—Andrew Lee Lewis, 57, died July 22, 2007 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Southampton County, Virginia. “Mop Lewis,” as he was known, was employed at Norshipco as a welder for 28 years. He was a member of Beulah Land AME Zion Church since his early youth.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lewis; two daughters, Demetria Lewis and Anita Milton, both of Norfolk; three sons, Andrew Lewis Jr. (Sharon) of Virginia Beach, Troy Lewis and Demarco Lewis both of Norfolk; 10 sisters, Kathy Carter of Baltimore, Doretha Faltz of Chesapeake, Gloria Urquhart of Courtland, Debra Williams of Hampton, Jenny Wynn of Waverly, Louise Evans of Hampton, Carrie Seaborne of Sedley, Phyllis Evans of Newport News, Vanessa Pearson of Pennington, N.C., and Larnestine Vick of Branchville; one brother, Romanuel Lewis of Hampton; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral was held Thursday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St.

Interment was inBeulah Land AME Church Cemetery, Zuni.

Metropolitan Funeral Home, Norfolk, was in charge of arrangements.
