SUFFOLK—Wilford Lee Turner, 67, of the 3000 block of Waterjump Crescent, died July 16, 2007.

Mr. Turner was born July 25, 1939, to the late Nelcie and Alfred Turner in Boykins, and was educated in the Southampton County public school system.

He retired from C.E. Thurston & Sons after 13 years of service as a truck driver. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Turner of Suffolk; three sons, Trent Levell Hedgspeth of Charlotte, N.C., Damon Lemont Hedgspeth of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Timothy Edwin Cooper of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Lucille Jordan; one brother, Alfred Turner; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven nieces; four nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral was held in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Minister Cliff Hedgspeth will officiate. Interment was in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
