Mr. Savage was born in Southampton County, and was the widower of Nellie Savage. He retired after 33 years of service from the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, as a mechanic and was a former member of Zion Bethel UCC, Portsmouth.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Goldsberry and Barbara Horsey; five sons, Edward Savage (Arie), William Savage, Wilbert Savage, John Savage and Frederick Savage; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four nieces, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., Portsmouth, by Elder James Freeman.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing WIll begin Friday at noon.
