SMITHFIELD—Anna Elizabeth Little, 86, died at home July 16. 2007.

The daughter of the late Howard Leslie Little Sr. and Hazel Stallings Little, she was a native and lifelong resident of Isle of Wight.

She was the valedictorian of the 1939 graduating class of Smithfield High School. Anna was a dedicated employee of Smithfield Foods and was proud of her accomplishments and retired at age 81 with more than 50 years of service. She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Wilson Little and a brother, Howard L. Little Jr.

Survivors include a sister, Hazel Little Jones; niece, Carol Ann Jones Clements and her husband James L. II of Smithfield; two nephews, Steven W. Jones and his wife Beverly L. of Chesapeake and H. Wayne Jones and his wife Frances H. of Smithfield; and a host of extended family.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Ivy Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating.

The family will receive friends in the home of the sister. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Isle of Wight Human Society, P.O. Box 273, Smithfield, VA 23430.
