Herman W. Cobb

SEDLEY-Herman Wallace Cobb, 80, died July 3, 2007.
He was born in Isle of Wight County, a son of the late Benjamin Madison and Pearl Barrett Cobb.
Mr. Cobb was a retired farmer and member of Black Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a charter member of Black Creek Hunt Club.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jessie Lowe Cobb; his daughter, Ginger C. McFatter and husband, Wayne; his son, Herman Nelson Cobb and wife, Pat, all of Franklin; two sisters, Emma C. Rogister of Franklin, Kathryn C. Jenkins and husband, Julian, of Carrsville; one brother, Coston Cobb and wife, Mildred, of Zuni; four special grandchildren, Drew Cutright and wife, Ruth Anne, of Midlothian, Dodie Thompson and husband, Jeff, of Troutville, Beth Turner and husband, Todd, of Ivor, Lisa Lawrence and husband, Jonathan, of Kill Devil Hills, NC; two step-grandchildren, Carrie Fox and husband, Jay, of Franklin, Dillon Blythe of Charlotte, NC; four beloved great-grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, and Parker Thompson and Avery Cutright, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cobb was predeceased by four sisters, Jane Clark, Anna Joyner, Stella Presson, and Edith McKool, and two brothers, Forrest Cobb and Woodrow Cobb.
A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Greg Kitts and Willis Switzer officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Black Creek Baptist Church, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
