COURTLAND—A Boykins woman is in jail after she allegedly used her car to attack two men during a party.

Tam Leing Smalls, 34, of Pittman Road was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and attempted malicious wounding when a dispute turned violent at a late-night party on the 14000 block of White Meadow Road, near Boykins, last week.

Christopher Thomas Woodley, 22, of Jarratt, was flown by helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was treated and released from the emergency room for his injuries. A 37-year-old man who lives at the location where the party was held escaped injury, despite being pinned between the woman’s sedan and a truck, according to witness accounts.

According to a police report, after pinning the first man, Smalls turned her vehicle on Woodley, who was struck and ended up on the hood.

The vehicle then backed up, throwing Woodley to the ground, and hit him a second time.

The victim wound up underneath the car after the attack, the report states.

No other arrests were made in the incident, which occurred at about 1:30 a.m. June 29.

Smalls is being held without bond at the Sussex County Jail.
