Alice D. Lawson

SMITHFIELD—Alice Darden Lawson, 90, of Uzzell Church Road, died June 7, 2007, in a Suffolk hospital.
Mrs. Lawson, a native of Isle of Wight County, was the daughter of the late William E. Darden and Alice Pearce Darden.
She was a lifelong member of Uzzells United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas Clifton Lawson; a stepson, David Clifton Lawson and wife Constance of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Helen Simone Lawson of New York City and Holly Michelle Lawson of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Charlotte Whitley, Mildred Hall and husband Cleve, all of Smithfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Godwin, Ruth Darden and three brothers, Willis Darden, Curtis Lee Darden and Woodrow Darden.
A graveside funeral was held Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
