Girl Scouts mark 95th anniversary

For 95 years, Girl Scouting has been dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence and character.

During Girl Scout Week, celebrated this past week, Girl Scouts across the country took part in community service activities and gift-giving.

The Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast was among those councils working to “make the world a better place.” A special “Girl Scouts Make the World a Better Place” patch and pin are available for purchase from the council shop to all community-service participants.

Celebration events will take place throughout March. A special anniversary exhibit will run at the Francis Land House in Virginia Beach through April 15.

For more information about other local celebration events, visit the GSCCC Web site, www.gsccc.org., or call your local council on the Southside at 547-4405; the Peninsula at 595-9802; or in northern North Carolina at (252) 335-2291.
