VIRGINIA BEACH—Andrew Lee Warren, 83, died March 25, 2008.

Mr. Warren was born Dec. 30, 1924 in Franklin. He received his BS of theology from Charles Harrison Mason Bible College.

He retired in 1986 from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 32 years of service as a supply clerk and also in 2002 as pastor of St. Paul Holiness Church after 28 years of service where he founded the Choir Union.

He also was the founder of the Tidewater Area-wide Ministerial Alliance.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Valentine of Virginia Beach; two sons, Deacon Andrew M. Warren (Gwendolyn W.) and Pastor Karol L. Warren (first lady Michelle) both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Laura F. Davis of Norfolk and Virginia L. Gilchrist of Suffolk; four brothers, George Warren (Margaret) and Melvin Warren both of Norfolk, Nathaniel Warren of Suffolk and Howard Warren of Cleveland, Tenn.; one special aunt, Bertha Turner of Suffolk; two sisters-in-law, Vineonie Pickett (Abbey) of East Orange, N.J., and Shirley Walters of Somerset,

N.J.; one brother-in-law, William Valentine (Alice) of Hampton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual family and friends.

A funeral was held at noon Monday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St. Pastor Karol L. Warren will officiate.

Interment was in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.

Metropolitan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
